SUSTAINABILITY
RAG is committed to building a business that sources products in an ethically, socially and environmentally responsible manner.
We believe great fashion shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet or our communities.
Our Sustainability Vision 2030 sets a clear path for how we’ll grow responsibly - reducing our environmental footprint while supporting people and local communities.
OUR 2030 VISION:
“As we continue to grow, we’re committed to making a positive impact - supporting our people, communities, and planet as we journey toward becoming a stronger, more sustainable business.”
This vision is built around three pillars: People, Planet, and Community.
PEOPLE
To provide a fair, safe and healthy work environment for the team in our Business and the people in our Supply Chain.
-
We believe in being open about our supply chains and ensuring fair practices from field to store.
-
We act with integrity, working only with suppliers who share our ethical standards.
-
We aim to be an employer of choice, creating inclusive and empowering environments for our team.
PLANET
RAG is aware of the impact the apparel industry has on our planet and we are committed to making positive change.
-
We are transitioning to better fabrics and trims that are responsibly sourced, durable, and recyclable.
-
Our stores and operations are continually reducing energy consumption, exploring renewable energy options, and cutting carbon emissions.
-
We’re finding solutions to prevent clothing from going to landfill by expanding recycling and donation programs.
Community
To give back to our community through partnering with key organisations.
-
We collaborate with charity partners and community organisations to create positive change.
-
Our team actively participates in fundraising, donation drives, and community engagement events.
-
We consider the needs of all people—customers, employees, and partners alike.
-
RAG engages with Baptist World Aid to provide transparency into the work we are doing to source our products in an ethical manner, uphold workers’ rights and manage our environmental footprint. Each year, Baptist World Aid releases an Ethical Fashion Report to help consumers make everyday, ethical purchasing decisions when it comes to fashion.
RAG uses this report to benchmark our progress and assist in developing our sustainable strategy, and we are proud to have upgraded our overall score from a C in 2019 to a B in 2021.
We know there is a long road ahead and we are proud of our ongoing commitment and the steps we’re taking. You can find a detailed report via baptistworldaid.org.au
